Before Pics

Here is the before pictures of the house we bought.  It looks a lot different now since we have torn a lot out.
This is the back living room where the couch, tv, and toys will be as well as my desk.
This is the kitchen, obviously.  Sadly, this is the nicest part of the house.  The door on the right is the pantry and the door right to the left of it is access to the water heater and the furnace.

Another view of the kitchen and then the dining room/breakfast nook area.
This is the family room looking into the kitchen.  This is what you see when you come in the front door.
This is one of the three bedrooms.  My husband started tearing things out before I even realized otherwise I would have pictures of them before.

 Bedroom 2
Bedroom 3 (which will be the master

After we started tearing things out.  The had textured over wood paneling so we didn't realize when we bought it that it wasn't sheet rock.

Background

Well, where to start?  I guess with what brought us to Utah?  Well, my husband, Josh, was not happy with his job in Texas so, in a nutshell, we got up and left our job and security to start a business here in Utah.  We have been blessed to have Josh's parents who allowed us to move in to their empty house free of charge until we got on our feet and found a place to live.  Renting was out of the question because it's so dang expensive, so we started looking at houses (which are also expensive since the oilfield is booming) but not as expensive as renting.

Long story short.  We found a house in Myton, Utah that was a foreclosure.  It had been sitting for 2 years but had only been on the market for about 3 or 4 months before we decided to put an offer on it.  Can I explain that when we bought our first house almost 6 years ago, it was nowhere near as hard as it is to buy a house now.  It was a nightmare!  It took us almost 75 days to close on the house.  They kept coming up with thing after thing.  But we got it and so that's all that matters.

So now we are in the process of remodeling it.  In the next post, I'll tell you all about that adventure.  And hopefully I'll have a few pictures to share, too.
